Happy Holidays! I forgot I had a blog. Not surprising since I only have ...*checks blog*... one post! Well, that sounds about right. Anyway, here I am again. I thought I might try this blogging thing out one more time.
2020 has been quite a year. I missed out on so much RL stuff that I had planned, but then other things took their place and it was nice in a way I wasn't expecting.
One of those things was getting a new computer and getting back in SL more than I had been the last few years. My favorite thing to do in SL is to decorate houses. I usually take 2 or 3 months to get it just right. Each time I think "this is my favorite house". Then I do another and think the same thing.
As much as I love to decorate houses, I don't like taking photos of the finished products near as much. I think I do a fairly decent job of decor, but not so great a job of photographing the results. I am not skilled in editing photos, but I am slowly learning about filters, so that's a plus.
My latest house is another Trompe L'oeil, though honestly, most of my houses are Trompe L'oeil houses. I love the clean lines and the textures are easy to work with; I can tint most walls and floors as needed to personalize them. This one is the Kaavia Modern Cottage. I intended to do a very subdued palette of grays, blacks, and whites for this home, to match the winter weather outside; that didn't last past the the first day or so. I blame this picture for the interjection of color. I love this photo my cousin took in Prague. The romantic subject painted on the wall and the juxtaposition of the graffitti is amazing.
So, I put it on the wall and then had to pull a little red into the decor and then a tinge of blue/green and then ... no more monochromatic theme. Oh well, that's how it goes, right? Now, on to my house photos:
I love shelves. You can do so much with shelves. I always have shelves here and there throughout the house. In SL you never have to dust, so I can indulge my love of knick-knacks and shelves as much as I want!
