From the beach to the desert!

Hey there!

It's time for a new post! Last time I had the lovely beach cliff with palm trees and a beautiful beach house. Well, I worked so hard on those beach cliffs that I decided to repurpose them into a nice desert cliff look. I still have the ocean down below because that's how my parcel is but I think it works as a nice desert anyway.  Fundati happened to have their desert pack on one of the weekend sales so I picked up some nice plants and trees. I also shopped around finding other cacti I liked. The rocks and such I already had out for the beach are from Fundati as well.

I found this cute little house by La Petite Vie when I was wandering one of the monthly event sales and saw something else they had there. I picked up the LM and went to the store to see what else they had and this was it. Actually, this is not one house but two of them that I just put together to get the look I wanted. I am not talented enough to mod them with new doors in between so you have to go outside to get to the other rooms, but in SL no one cares about the weather so it's no big deal. Both houses come with a hud to change the outer wall color and a hud for the shutters.

The kitchen is actually supposed to be a garage area I believe. It has the double doors and the walls change to match the outer house color when you use the hud. I don't usually use a car in SL and the ones I do have are parked in my inventory when I'm not using them so that space is now a kitchen/dining area. Besides, in this heat having some double doors to open in the kitchen is a good idea! Most of my decor is from my inventory, but I never pass up a chance to go shopping for more home items. The stove nook is from Zinnias and you can buy parts of it or the whole thing in a fat-pack. The store has a nice selection of bright-colored home decor, mostly with a Central American feel.

The living room is again mostly a mix of stuff in my inventory with the addition of some small knick-knacks and plants from shopping- the bright wall plates were from Zinnias.

I, as usual, got distracted and bored before I finished the inside of the house but I did have some nice outdoor shots.

I was a bit tired and decided to take a late evening nap in the hanging hammock from Kraftwork. All this decorating is tiring!

The desert is pretty hot and dry so a little water feature is a must. The Tranquility Water Garden Tub from Kopfkino was on sale a few weeks back and was a perfect fit.

I may have gotten bored with the inside rooms, but the balcony is a great space to relax and so I put in the effort to finish it at the end. This photo is a tribute to my friend Gidge, who is rarely seen without food or a fun drink in hand in SL. I figure a margarita is fun enough and fits my theme, right? I also picked up this cute swimsuit and sarong this weekend from [QE] on one of the sales. It's color change and is very customizable, down to the beads and the fringes.

Anyway, I'm off to clean up my parcel and move on to the next house! I might skip the sandy theme this time. I'm tired of it a little. I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating — and it gets everywhere." ;)
